SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

On 25 September 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each Goal has specific goals to be achieved over the next 15 years.

17 goals to transform our world Governments, business and civil society together with the United Nations have begun to mobilize efforts to achieve the sustainable development agenda by 2030. The agenda calls for action by all countries to improve the lives of all peoples in a universal, inclusive and indivisible way. In 2015, countries adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In 2016, the Paris Agreement on climate change went into effect, addressing the need to limit the rise in global temperatures. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy systems for all.
Objective 8
Promote lasting, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
Goal 9
Build a resilient infrastructure and promote innovation and equitable, responsible and sustainable industrialisation.
Objective 10
Reduce inequality within and between nations.
Goal 11
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
Objective 12
Ensure sustainable models of production and consumption.
Objective 13
Promote actions, at all levels, to combat climate change.
Objective 14
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
Objective 15
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of the earth's ecosystem.
Objective 16
Peace, justice and strong institutions.
Goal 17
Strengthen the means of implementation and renew the global partnership for sustainable development.
